The Challenge

The client was upgrading their White Liquor Pressure Filter (WLPF) and Weak Wash Pressure Filter (WWPF) Arrangement and contracted Autopro to deliver the electrical requirements for the project.

Some of the specific requirements of the project included:

  • Ensuring that the acid and lime mud systems function properly after the valve was relocated.
  • Moving a lime pump outlet header valve  from its existing location to a new location very close to the initial location, a distance of 2-3 feet.
  • Installing new air lines from the existing solenoid and moving the solenoid to a slightly different location to make room for the new piping.
  • DCS changes to accommodate a change in interlock conditions and graphic arrangement.

Autopro's Role

Autopro's project scope included:

  • Generating documentation that outlined all construction activities required to complete installation of the floor monitoring equipment.
  • Working with DMI DCS technicians to make the necessary changes to the DCS and graphics to reflect the new valve and pipe arrangement.
  • Removing existing cables and cable trays.
  • Installing new instrument tubing.
  • Re-installing existing cable trays.
  • Re-terminating existing cables.
