The Challenge

This multi-national oil and gas client had a need to reduce water usage from the Athabasca river by filtering reclaimed water to make it suitable for gland water cooling. The project was high profile within the client's organization, had a very aggressive schedule, and demanded highly skilled Honeywell DCS programmers with knowledge of Fieldbus and complex sequencing.

Autopro's Role

Autopro was contracted to provide engineering design, implementation, configuration, and commissioning services to automate the new gland water conversions project. To meet the client's requirement, Autopro provided the following solutions:

  • Configuration sheets for 10 E3 relays
  • DCS configurations, 81 CMs / SCMs, and two graphics to implement a new water filtration skid
  • Testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up support

Success Criteria

Autopro demonstrated extraordinary service by meeting the client's quality expectations. At project kick-off, we identified there were limited client resources to support Autopro's team and put forward our best technical team to meet the challenge. When client-driven schedule changes presented, we responded to the changes and supported them in meeting the new milestone.
